In case you're interested, the first Chameleons, Inc. novel, Code Name: Chameleons, didn't start out as a prose novel -- it really started out as a script for a possi-ble TV-movie that never happened.

I'm not only a big film and TV fan, but also a die-hard fan of comic books and super-heroes -- with Batman being my all-time favorite (and a comic book super hero whose adventures I've always wanted to write).  In the late-1990's, as I was struggling to make it as a writer -- and not just in film and TV -- I de-cided to pen the script for a possible TV-movie that combined the super-hero, detective mystery, and super-spy genres, owing a bit to past media concepts (in-cluding Charlie's Angels), which is how Code Name: Chameleons was born.

But there was a major problem: there wasn't much interest in my TV-movie script, not even from the talent agencies that had represented me for a time during the past two decades.  Complicating matters further was the fact that I wasn't in a strong financial position at that time as far as trying to turn my TV-movie script into a reality.

Several years later, in 2001, when the self-publishing book companies had already expanded its horizons to the still-grow-ing Internet, I decided to turn Code Name: Chameleons into the prose novel that it wound up being, by hooking up with iUniverse -- granted, I had to do some extensive editing over many months, and my late mother helped lend a financial hand as far as making the book a reality.  But Code Name: Chameleons did get published -- and despite the fact that it may not be as well-known as those books from other literary franchises like Harry Potter and James Bond, I'm proud of what I've accomplished.  (The book itself was dedicated to the memory of both my father, Alphonse Lavernoich, and my paternal uncle, Vale-rian "Bill" Lavernoich -- two of the most important people in my life.)

Interestingly, when I wrote the plot element of Dr. Olympus planning an ultimately-unsuccessful mechanized assault on some of the world's capital cities into the Code Name: Chameleons TV-movie script (and which later made its way into the novel) back in the late-1990's, yours truly (as well as everyone else in the world) had no idea of what would happen on Septem-ber 11, 2001 -- whether or not I was doing a bit of literary foreshadowing when I was writing the script's climactic scene is something that I can't fully answer.  I was writing what I hoped would become an entertaining mystery/adventure story.

Several years after Code Name: Chameleons was first published, I began to write what would become Chameleons To The Rescue -- but it wouldn't be until 2010, when it was published.  Thankfully, when that happened, luck was -- more or else -- on my side when Lulu Books decided to publish it.  Which proves that, at least in the book publishing industry, a lot of things have definitely improved for the better, as far as turning your creative ideas into a reality's concerned.  (The book was dedicated to my paternal aunt, Bernice Migetz -- another important person in my life -- who died only several weeks before Chame-leons To The Rescue was all set to be published.)

Since then, I've written the short story A Mystery Without End (in 2016), which you can purchase and upload onto your digital devices that support E-PUB and PDF formats.  And at the end of 2017, the third Chameleons, Inc. book -- Target: Chameleons -- was published.  (To learn more about the books themselves -- and where to purchase your copies from -- please visit the Chameleons, Inc. Books section and the pages devoted to them on this very website!)
As for the future -- I'm hoping to write more novels and short stories starring the Chameleons, as well as seeing them on the motion picture screen (which is a strong possibility -- and can be, thanks in no small measure to you readers).
